DR. CHRIS ROWORTH

Senior Lecturer / Menkyo Kaiden

Chris Roworth is the Director of the Association of Japanese Integrated Medicine.

Chris began his medical career after recovering from a chronic spinal injury received during free fall parachuting. Chris’s recovery was due to the integrated treatments that a Japanese Doctor (Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi ) gave him.

Chris Roworth worked personally with Dr Hatsumi and the research and work Chris and Dennis Bartram carried out resulted in Dr Hatsumi granting them both the status of 'Menkyo Kaiden' (Master teacher) to the ancient medicine school of Hi Chi Buko Goshin Jutsu. Chris has over 30 years experience and was one of the first natural medicine practitioners to work within the NHS and he has lectured in teaching Universities in; England, Spain, Germany, Austria, USA and Japan. His integrated approach is to treat the person, using many therapies at the same time.

Chris runs a successful clinic with a number of elite level athletes as clients as well as A-list movie stars.

DENNIS BARTRAM

Senior Lecturer / Menkyo Kaiden

Dennis Bartram is the Director of the Amatsu Therapy Association.

Dennis’ journey began in 1969 when he qualified in Swedish remedial massage and in 1974, he began his practice in remedial sports massage and manipulative therapy. He then went on to qualify as an Osteopath in 1984. In the 1970s Dennis had also begun to study Japanese karate and in 1985 he began to study an ancient form of Japanese warrior principles. The grandmaster of this school was Dr Masaaki Hatsumi who was the holder of ancient scrolls of nine schools of martial arts and a school of ancient medicine and practised as a Japanese Osteopath. He observed Hatsumi as he practised as an Osteopath and a martial teacher. That day in 1986 changed Dennis’ outlook forever. He had found his mentor, a man who practised his hobby and his occupation and described them as being one. For the next ten years Dennis and Chris Roworth worked personally with Dr Hatsumi. The research and work they carried out resulted in Dr Hatsumi granting them both the status of 'Menkyo Kaiden' (Master teacher) to the ancient medicine of Hichibuko Goshinjutsu.
